The Engineering Technical College – Basra celebrated a distinguished academic achievement, represented by the Electrical Engineering Technologies Department attaining first place among Iraqi universities in the specialization of Electrical Engineering Technologies. This accomplishment was recognized during an official ceremony held in the presence of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Nawras Jameel Jassim.
The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, along with academic and technical staff and students from the Electrical Engineering Technologies Department.
In his address, the Dean congratulated the college on this achievement, emphasizing that such excellence reflects the sustained efforts of the college and its academic departments in fostering a rigorous academic environment. He further noted that this accomplishment supports the continued pursuit of excellence and the advancement of academic standards, thereby enhancing the institution’s standing within academic circles.
The Dean also commended the pivotal role of the University President in providing continuous support and guidance, highlighting its significant impact in creating a conducive environment for achieving this qualitative milestone.
He further praised the efforts of the Head of the Electrical Engineering Technologies Department and the Program Accreditation Committee, acknowledging their effective role in fulfilling accreditation requirements and implementing robust academic standards that directly contributed to this success.
Additionally, Professor Dr. Rita Salem Adam, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, affirmed that this achievement reflects the college’s commitment to the implementation of academic quality standards and demonstrates a high level of institutional performance. She emphasized that sustaining a culture of quality remains fundamental to maintaining such accomplishments.
For his part, Dr. Haider Dawood Al-Mukhtar, Head of the Electrical Engineering Technologies Department, expressed his pride in this achievement, noting that it is the result of collective effort and sound academic planning. He also praised the contributions of faculty members and students, whose efforts played a central role in attaining this academic distinction.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Dean honored the Head of the Department, the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, the Head of the Quality Division, Dr. Samar Hamid Majeed, as well as the Program Accreditation Committee of the Electrical Engineering Technologies Department, in recognition of their outstanding efforts and effective contributions to this achievement. The Dean also honored academic departments that achieved advanced rankings and high evaluations, in appreciation of their academic excellence and their contributions to enhancing the college’s academic reputation.
