Basra Engineering Technical College conducted a workshop on hydrological engineering and climate change, within the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the presidency of the Southern Technical University, presented by the college’s teaching staff, A.P. Rafi Muhammad Qasim, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Laila Balasim Hashem, and the teaching staff at the College.
The workshop lecturer stressed that “Hydrological engineering is an important and complex specialty that is related to climate variables. The workshop focused on the direct relationship between the hydrological cycle and the water budget and the relationship of the budget to climate variables, where the focus was on the effect of change in temperature on the amount of rain and evaporation and on cover.” Vegetarian.
He added that the focus was on the impact of climate change on flood waves and its relationship to the transfer of pollutants, as well as the impact of climate change on soil erosion factors.
