Under the patronage of the President of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, Basra Enginering Technical College concluded anti- drug program to combat drugs and psychotropic substances and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Laila Balasim Hashim, in cooperation with the Iraqi Society for Medical Research and Studies.
The training program was presented by the President of the Iraqi Society for Medical Research and Studies, Dr. Dhurgham Aref Al-Ajoudi, with the participation of the consultant Dr. Sadiq Hassan Kazim, a lecturer at Al-Zahraa College of Medicine, to activate the joint scientific cooperation between the two institutions with the aim of providing services to the community.
The training program for the certified trainer (TOT) included various axes in the mechanisms of combating drugs and psychotropic substances, treatment methods, and preserving society from the danger of the spread of this phenomenon. The program focused on preparing training cadres capable of providing awareness and cultural guidance lectures to various segments with the aim of reducing the spread of drugs.
The President of the Southern Technical University expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi Society for Medical Research and Studies for providing the special training program for university members, which was implemented at the Basra Technical College of Engineering.
