Basra Engineering Technical College Organizes Workshop on Enhancing the Role of Educational Guidance in Community Service
Basra Engineering Technical College recently hosted a workshop aimed at enhancing the role of educational guidance in community service. The event also featured a solidarity initiative in support of the Lebanese people. The workshop was held at the Department of Control and Automation Engineering Techniques and attended by:
• Assistant Professor Dr. Layla balasem hashem, Dean of the College
• Dr.Diyah Kamel Shari, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies
Workshop Focus
The workshop, led by Saad Nadhim, Head of the Media and Government Communication Division, highlighted the following key themes:
1. Educational Institutions’ Role: The pivotal role of educational institutions in fostering educational guidance and community service, in accordance with national government programs and sustainable development goals.
2. Volunteer Initiatives: A review of key volunteer projects and community service activities carried out by the college in previous years.
3. Future Planning: Presentation of the college’s strategic plan for the upcoming academic year, with a focus on increasing student involvement in community service initiatives.
Solidarity with Lebanon
In addition to the workshop, faculty members and students from the Department of Control and Automation Engineering Techniques voiced their condemnation of the recent violations against the Lebanese community due to external aggression.
Dean Dr. Layla balasem hashem confirmed that the college had successfully dispatched the first shipment of logistical aid to support the Lebanese people during these challenging times.
