Engineering Technical Collage Basra, at the Southern Technical University, held a workshop on reducing carbon dioxide emissions, presented by the teaching staff in the Department of Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering Techniques, consisting of Dr. Hala Hamid Majeed, teaching assistant Khitam Zannad Abdel-Sada, and teaching staff Ahmed Yahya Issa, in the presence of students and professors of the college.
The workshop addressed various topics, including the sources of carbon dioxide emissions, its risks to human health and the environment, and its impact on the ozone layer, which leads to increased global warming.
The workshop reached recommendations for planting trees in large numbers to reduce carbon dioxide, reducing emissions resulting from vehicle exhausts and emissions resulting from oil companies as a result of the combustion of gas associated with oil, and getting rid of carbon dioxide by injecting it into oil reservoirs that have stopped producing.
