Basra, Engineering Technical College continued to hold workshops and advisory and guidance sessions within the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, in the presence of a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Research and Development Department, the Entrepreneurial Projects Management Department, represented by Assistant Lecturer Shaima Ali Hussein and the Head of the Public Communication Team of the Prime Minister’s Office, Eng. Mai Adnan. Under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq.
On its third day, the activities included a workshop, advisory and guidance sessions, and success stories for college graduates who were able to establish start-up companies and freelance businesses. It included a workshop on developing polymer concepts and investing them in a polymer granules production plant, presented by Dr. Laila Blasim Hashem, with the participation of the head of the Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering Department, Dr. Amjad Ahmed Ali. An advisory and guidance session was also held on entrepreneurship and the role of Iraqi universities, presented by Dr. Haider Al-Mukhtar and the Dean of the College.
Dr. Amjad Ahmed Ali also presented a workshop on managing small projects. The sessions and workshops aimed to provide the labor market with pioneering experiences and support young people with creative ideas and ways to implement them.
The ministerial delegation expressed its admiration for the college’s program of entrepreneurial activities and the selection of ideas that serve the labor market. In turn, the Dean of the College emphasized opening new horizons with the private sector and providing it with ideas and consultations and building the skills of students and graduates, as well as developing various work sectors, pointing to the progress of work according to a special plan for entrepreneurship that includes holding job fairs and hosting the private sector with various workshops and events.
