Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Southern Technical University held the central graduation ceremony for its students for the academic year 2022-2023, the ninth session (Advancing and Building).
The ceremony began with the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the nation’s martyrs, after which the Republican anthem was played and then a blessed surah from the Holy Qur’an was read, followed by the President of the University delivering a speech by His Excellency the Minister in which he said: Allow me to begin this speech by congratulating our new graduates on achieving this achievement that deserves appreciation.
After years of work and perseverance, which culminated in success and excellence, and as we celebrate today the graduation of this persevering group of our dear students, pride fill our chests, because we found determination, persistence, and the great challenge in their eyes to build the nation and serve society.
Adding that the cornerstone of the world’s progress begins with the competitiveness between young scientific energies and other world challenges, so that the outcome in the end is the progress of nations.
The ceremony was attended by the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Al-Kaabi, Dr. Yassin Taher Hussein, a member of the Iraqi Parliament and a member of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, as well as professors, academics, media channels, news agencies, and families of graduate students.
